Khatib
A Khatib is a person who delivers the sermon, known as the Khutbah, during the Friday prayer service in Islam. This role is significant in the Muslim community, as the Khatib provides spiritual guidance and addresses social issues relevant to the congregation. The Khutbah typically consists of two parts, with the first focusing on religious teachings and the second addressing community matters.
In addition to leading the Khutbah, a Khatib may also perform other duties, such as leading the Salah (prayer) and offering advice to community members. The Khatib is often chosen based on their knowledge of Islamic teachings and their ability to communicate effectively with the congregation.
