Kh-55
The Kh-55 is a Soviet-designed air-to-surface cruise missile developed in the 1970s. It is primarily used by strategic bombers, such as the Tu-95 and Tu-160, to strike ground targets with high precision. The missile has a range of approximately 2,500 kilometers and can carry a conventional or nuclear warhead.
Equipped with an inertial navigation system and terrain contour matching, the Kh-55 can navigate complex landscapes to reach its target. Its design allows for low-altitude flight, making it harder for enemy radar systems to detect. The missile remains a key component of Russia's strategic military capabilities.
