Kevin Faulconer is an American politician who served as the Mayor of San Diego, California, from 2014 to 2020. He is a member of the Republican Party and was the first Republican mayor of San Diego in over a decade. Faulconer focused on issues such as homelessness, public safety, and infrastructure during his time in office. Before becoming mayor, Faulconer was a member of the San Diego City Council representing the 2nd District. He has a background in business and public policy, which he utilized to address various challenges facing the city. After his mayoral term, he ran for governor of California in 2021.
