Kernkraftwerk Grohnde
The Kernkraftwerk Grohnde is a nuclear power plant located near the town of Grohnde in Germany. It began operations in 1984 and is operated by the company E.ON. The plant has a pressurized water reactor with a net electrical output of approximately 1,430 megawatts, making it one of the larger nuclear facilities in the country.
The facility plays a significant role in Germany's energy supply, contributing to the national grid. As part of the country's energy transition, the Kernkraftwerk Grohnde is scheduled for decommissioning in line with Germany's phase-out of nuclear energy, which was decided after the Fukushima disaster in 2011.
