Kenyir Lake
Kenyir Lake is the largest man-made lake in Malaysia, located in the state of Terengganu. It was created in the 1970s by damming the Sungai Kenyir river, primarily for hydroelectric power generation. The lake covers an area of approximately 38,000 hectares and is surrounded by lush rainforests, making it a vital ecological zone.
The lake is home to various species of fish and wildlife, attracting nature enthusiasts and tourists.
