Kegon Sutra
The Kegon Sutra, also known as the Avatamsaka Sutra, is a key text in Mahayana Buddhism. It emphasizes the interconnectedness of all phenomena and the idea that everything exists in relation to everything else. The sutra presents a vision of the universe as a vast, intricate web of interdependent elements, highlighting the importance of compassion and enlightenment.
This sutra is particularly significant in the Kegon school of Buddhism, which originated in China and later spread to Japan. It is often associated with the teachings of the bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara, who embodies compassion and wisdom, guiding practitioners on their spiritual journey.
