Kazimierz Pułaski
Kazimierz Pułaski was a Polish nobleman and military commander born on March 6, 1745. He is best known for his role in the American Revolutionary War, where he fought for the colonies' independence from British rule. Pułaski is often referred to as the "Father of the American Cavalry" for his contributions to cavalry tactics and organization.
In addition to his military achievements, Pułaski is celebrated as a national hero in both Poland and the United States. He died on October 11, 1779, from wounds sustained during the Siege of Savannah. His legacy is honored with various monuments and commemorations, including Pulaski Day in several U.S. states.
