Karva Chauth
Karva Chauth is a traditional Hindu festival celebrated by married women in India. It falls on the fourth day after the full moon in the month of Kartik. On this day, women fast from sunrise to moonrise for the well-being and longevity of their husbands. The fast is often accompanied by rituals, prayers, and the application of mehndi (henna) on their hands.
In the evening, women gather to perform a puja (prayer ceremony) and wait for the moon to rise. Once the moon is sighted, they break their fast by offering water to the moon and then sharing a meal with their husbands. This festival symbolizes love, devotion, and the bond between married couples.
