Kamla Persad-Bissessar
Kamla Persad-Bissessar is a Trinidadian politician who served as the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago from 2010 to 2015. She is a member of the United National Congress (UNC) and was the first woman to hold the office of Prime Minister in her country. Persad-Bissessar has also held various ministerial positions, including Minister of Education.
Born on April 22, 1952, in Siparia, she studied law and became a successful attorney before entering politics. Persad-Bissessar has been a prominent figure in Caribbean politics and has focused on issues such as education, health, and women's rights during her career.
