Kaieteur Falls is one of the world's largest and most powerful waterfalls, located in Guyana. It has a height of 741 feet (226 meters) and a width of about 370 feet (113 meters). The falls are situated on the Potaro River in the heart of the Kaieteur National Park, which is known for its rich biodiversity and stunning landscapes.
The waterfall was discovered in 1870 by Charles Barrington Brown, a British geologist. Kaieteur Falls is renowned for its impressive flow rate, which can reach up to 23,400 cubic feet per second (660 cubic meters per second). The surrounding area is home to unique wildlife, including the Guianan cock-of-the-rock and various species of orchids.
