K-dwarf
A K-dwarf, also known as a K-type main-sequence star, is a type of star that is cooler and smaller than the Sun. These stars have surface temperatures ranging from about 3,900 to 5,200 Kelvin. K-dwarfs are known for their orange hue and can be found in various stages of their life cycle, typically burning hydrogen in their cores.
K-dwarfs are important in the study of stellar evolution and can host planetary systems. They are often considered good candidates for the search for extraterrestrial life due to their long lifespans, which can last for billions of years, providing stable environments for potential exoplanets.
