Kōfuku-ji
Kōfuku-ji is a historic Buddhist temple located in Nara, Japan. Founded in 669 AD, it is one of the most important temples of the Kōfuku-ji sect of Tendai Buddhism. The temple is known for its impressive five-story pagoda, which is the second tallest in Japan, and its beautiful gardens that attract many visitors.
The temple complex houses numerous important cultural properties, including several national treasures and important cultural assets. Kōfuku-ji played a significant role in the development of Buddhism in Japan and is part of the Historic Monuments of Ancient Nara, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
