Köprülü Family
The Köprülü Family was a prominent Ottoman family that rose to power during the 17th century. They are best known for their significant influence in the Ottoman Empire, particularly through their contributions to governance and military leadership. The family produced several Grand Viziers, who were the highest-ranking officials in the empire, helping to stabilize and reform the state during a time of crisis.
One of the most notable members was Köprülü Mehmed Pasha, who served as Grand Vizier from 1656 to 1661. His reforms strengthened the central authority of the empire and improved its military capabilities. The Köprülü era is often seen as a period of revitalization for the Ottoman Empire, marking a time of both political and economic growth.
