Julián Castro
Julián Castro is an American politician and attorney who served as the Mayor of San Antonio, Texas from 2009 to 2014. He was born on September 16, 1974, and is a member of the Democratic Party. Castro gained national recognition when he delivered the keynote address at the 2012 Democratic National Convention.
In 2014, he was appointed as the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development under President Barack Obama. Castro ran for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020 but suspended his campaign in January 2020. He is known for his focus on issues such as immigration, education, and affordable housing.
