Julenisse
Julenisse is a traditional figure in Norwegian folklore, often associated with Christmas. He is depicted as a small, gnome-like creature with a long beard and a red hat. Julenisse is known for bringing gifts to children during the holiday season, similar to Santa Claus in other cultures.
In addition to gift-giving, Julenisse is also believed to protect farms and livestock. He is often portrayed as a kind and helpful spirit, ensuring that families have a good harvest and a prosperous year. Many families celebrate his presence by leaving out porridge or rice pudding as an offering on Christmas Eve.
