Jukun People
The Jukun people are an ethnic group primarily found in Nigeria, particularly in the Taraba State and parts of Benue State. They are known for their rich cultural heritage, which includes traditional music, dance, and festivals. The Jukun language, also called Jukun, is part of the Niger-Congo language family.
Historically, the Jukun people were part of the ancient Kwararafa Kingdom, which played a significant role in the region's trade and politics. Today, they engage in agriculture, with crops like yams and maize being staples. The Jukun community values family and communal ties, which are central to their social structure.
