Judicial Appeals
Judicial appeals are a legal process where a higher court reviews the decision made by a lower court. This process allows individuals or parties who believe that a mistake was made in their case to seek a correction. Appeals can address issues such as errors in law, procedure, or the interpretation of evidence.
During an appeal, the higher court examines the records from the original trial, but typically does not hear new evidence or witness testimonies. The outcome can result in the original decision being upheld, reversed, or sent back to the lower court for further proceedings.
