Jubal Early
Jubal Early was a Confederate general during the American Civil War, known for his aggressive tactics and leadership in several key battles. Born on November 3, 1816, in Virginia, he graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1837 and served in the Mexican-American War before joining the Confederate Army.
Early played a significant role in the Battle of Gettysburg and led a raid into Washington, D.C. in 1864. After the war, he became a prominent figure in the Lost Cause movement, advocating for the Southern perspective on the conflict. He passed away on March 2, 1894.
