Juana la Loca
Juana la Loca, or Juana I of Castile, was a Spanish queen born in 1479. She was the daughter of Isabella I of Castile and Ferdinand II of Aragon. Juana became queen in 1504 after her mother's death but struggled to maintain control due to her mental health issues, which led to her being labeled "the mad."
Juana was married to Philip the Handsome, and their union produced six children. After Philip's death in 1506, Juana's mental state deteriorated further, leading her father to confine her in a castle. She remained there until her death in 1555, largely forgotten by history.
