Juan José Castelli
Juan José Castelli was an important figure in the early stages of the Argentine War of Independence. Born on July 19, 1764, in Buenos Aires, he became a lawyer and a politician. Castelli was a strong advocate for the rights of the people and played a key role in the May Revolution of 1810, which marked the beginning of the struggle for independence from Spanish colonial rule.
As a member of the First Junta, Castelli worked to promote revolutionary ideas and reforms. He was known for his eloquent speeches and commitment to social justice. Unfortunately, his life was cut short when he died on October 12, 1812, but his contributions to Argentina's independence remain significant.
