Jozini Dam Wall
The Jozini Dam Wall is a significant structure located in the Jozini region of South Africa. Completed in 1972, it was built across the Usuthu River to create the Jozini Dam, which serves multiple purposes, including irrigation, flood control, and hydroelectric power generation. The dam plays a crucial role in supporting local agriculture and providing water to surrounding communities.
The wall itself is approximately 60 meters high and 1,800 meters long, making it one of the largest dams in the country. The reservoir created by the dam has a capacity of around 2,800 million cubic meters, supporting diverse wildlife and recreational activities such as fishing and boating in the Tshivhase Nature Reserve.
