Jovan Cvijić
Jovan Cvijić was a prominent Serbian geographer and ethnologist, born on October 6, 1865, in the village of Tršić. He is best known for his extensive research on the geography of the Balkans and his contributions to the understanding of the region's cultural and physical landscapes. Cvijić's work laid the foundation for modern geographical studies in Southeast Europe.
Throughout his career, Cvijić published numerous influential works, including "The Balkans" and "Geography of the Southern Slavs." He was also a member of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts and played a significant role in promoting the importance of geography in education.
