Josip Broz
Josip Broz, commonly known as Tito, was a Yugoslav revolutionary and statesman who served as the Prime Minister and later as the President of Yugoslavia. Born on May 7, 1892, in what is now Croatia, he played a significant role in the resistance against Axis powers during World War II and became a prominent leader in the post-war period.
Tito was known for his non-aligned foreign policy, which sought to maintain independence from both the Soviet Union and the Western Bloc. His leadership helped to unify the diverse ethnic groups within Yugoslavia, but after his death in 1980, the country faced increasing tensions that eventually led to its disintegration in the 1990s.
