Joseph B. Rhine
Joseph B. Rhine was an American botanist and parapsychologist, best known for his pioneering work in the field of parapsychology. He was born on September 29, 1895, and became a prominent figure in the study of extrasensory perception (ESP) and psychokinesis. Rhine founded the Rhine Research Center in 1935, where he conducted experiments to explore the potential of the human mind beyond conventional scientific understanding.
Rhine is particularly recognized for his use of Zener cards, a set of cards designed to test ESP abilities. His research aimed to provide empirical evidence for phenomena that were often dismissed by mainstream science. Through his work, Rhine contributed significantly to the discussion of the mind's capabilities and the scientific investigation of paranormal phenomena.
