Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama
Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama is a Fijian politician and former military officer who served as the Prime Minister of Fiji from 2007 to 2022. He initially came to power through a military coup in December 2006, which he justified as necessary to address corruption and political instability in the country. Bainimarama led a government that focused on economic reforms and infrastructure development.
