José Eustasio Rivera
José Eustasio Rivera was a Colombian author and politician, born on February 19, 1888, in Neiva, Colombia. He is best known for his novel, La vorágine, published in 1924, which explores the harsh realities of life in the Amazon rainforest and the impact of the rubber trade on indigenous communities. Rivera's work is celebrated for its vivid descriptions and social commentary.
