Jonathan Meigs Sr.
Jonathan Meigs Sr. was an American politician and military officer born on July 17, 1749, in New Jersey. He served as a general during the American Revolutionary War and played a significant role in various military campaigns. After the war, he became involved in politics and was appointed as the first governor of the Mississippi Territory in 1798.
