Jonathan Meigs Jr.
Jonathan Meigs Jr. was an American politician and military officer born on July 17, 1764, in Pennsylvania. He served as the 2nd Governor of the Ohio Territory from 1801 to 1803. Meigs played a significant role in the early governance of the territory, helping to establish its legal and political framework.
Before his political career, Meigs was involved in the American Revolutionary War, where he served as a captain. After his tenure as governor, he continued to be active in public service, including roles in the U.S. House of Representatives. He passed away on February 28, 1823.
