John of Patmos is traditionally identified as the author of the Book of Revelation, the final book of the New Testament. He is believed to have been a Christian prophet who lived in the first century AD. According to Christian tradition, he was exiled to the island of Patmos in the Aegean Sea, where he received visions that inspired his writings.
The Book of Revelation contains apocalyptic imagery and prophecies about the end times, including the return of Jesus Christ. John’s visions include messages to seven churches in Asia Minor and vivid descriptions of the final judgment and the establishment of a new heaven and earth.
