John du Pont
John du Pont was an American philanthropist and member of the wealthy du Pont family, known for their chemical company, DuPont. Born on November 22, 1938, he was a trained ornithologist and had a passion for sports, particularly wrestling. He established the Foxcatcher Farm training facility in Pennsylvania to support Olympic wrestlers.
In 1996, du Pont was convicted of the murder of Olympic wrestler David Schultz, which shocked the sports community. His life and actions have been the subject of various documentaries and films, highlighting the complexities of his personality and the tragic events surrounding his legacy.
