John Tenniel
John Tenniel was a British illustrator and political cartoonist, best known for his work in the late 19th century. Born on February 28, 1820, he gained fame for his illustrations in Lewis Carroll's beloved children's books, particularly Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel, Through the Looking-Glass. His detailed and imaginative drawings helped bring these stories to life and have become iconic representations of the characters.
Tenniel was also a prominent cartoonist for the magazine Punch, where he commented on social and political issues of his time. His sharp wit and artistic skill made his work influential in shaping public opinion. He continued to create art until his death on April 25, 1914.
