John Nevill, 1st Baron Nevill
John Nevill, 1st Baron Nevill, was an English nobleman born around 1430. He was a prominent figure during the Wars of the Roses, a series of civil wars for control of the English throne. Nevill was a member of the powerful Nevill family and served as a military commander, participating in key battles such as the Battle of Towton in 1461.
In 1461, he was granted the title of Baron Nevill by King Edward IV. Nevill's loyalty shifted during the conflicts, and he later supported the Lancastrians against the Yorkists. His life was marked by political intrigue and shifting allegiances until his death in 1476.
