John C. Pemberton
John C. Pemberton was an American pharmacist best known for inventing Coca-Cola in 1886. He created the beverage as a tonic to help with various ailments, combining carbonated water with a syrup made from coca leaves and kola nuts.
Pemberton's invention quickly gained popularity, leading to the establishment of the Coca-Cola Company. Despite his success, he struggled financially and sold his rights to the drink shortly before his death in 1888. Today, Coca-Cola is one of the most recognized brands in the world.
