John Brack
John Brack was an Australian painter born on 10th December 1920 in Melbourne. He is best known for his contributions to the Australian art scene during the mid-20th century, particularly for his distinctive style that often combined realism with modernist elements. His works frequently explored themes of everyday life and social commentary.
Brack studied at the National Gallery of Victoria Art School and later became a prominent member of the Melbourne Modernist movement. His notable works include "The Bar" and "The Dinner Party," which reflect his keen observation of human behavior and the complexities of urban life. Brack passed away on 15th February 1999.
