Johannes Mehserle
Johannes Mehserle is a former police officer who gained national attention in the United States for his involvement in the shooting of Oscar Grant, an unarmed Black man, on January 1, 2009, in Oakland, California. Mehserle was working for the BART Police Department at the time of the incident, which was captured on video and sparked widespread protests and discussions about police use of force.
