Joe Lieberman
Joe Lieberman is an American politician and attorney who served as a United States Senator from Connecticut from 1989 to 2013. He was a member of the Democratic Party for most of his career but became an independent in 2006. Lieberman was known for his centrist views and was a prominent advocate for issues such as national security and healthcare reform.
In 2000, Lieberman made history by becoming the first Jewish candidate to be nominated for vice president by a major party when he ran alongside Al Gore in the presidential election. After leaving the Senate, he continued to be active in public life, engaging in various policy discussions and serving on several boards and organizations.
