Jim Preston is a fictional character from the 2016 science fiction film, Passengers. He is portrayed by actor Chris Pratt. In the story, Jim is a mechanic who is traveling on a spaceship called the Avalon that is headed to a distant colony planet. Due to a malfunction, he wakes up from hibernation 90 years too early.
