Jerry Lewis
Jerry Lewis was an American comedian, actor, and filmmaker, born on March 16, 1926, in Newark, New Jersey. He gained fame in the 1940s and 1950s as part of a comedy duo with Dean Martin, known for their entertaining performances in films and on stage. Lewis was celebrated for his slapstick humor and unique style, which made him a beloved figure in American entertainment.
In addition to his work in comedy, Lewis directed and produced several films, including the classic The Nutty Professor. He was also known for his philanthropic efforts, particularly his long association with the Muscular Dystrophy Association, where he hosted annual telethons to raise funds and awareness for the disease.
