Jean Drapeau
Jean Drapeau was a prominent Canadian politician who served as the mayor of Montreal for a total of 29 years, from 1954 to 1957 and then from 1960 to 1978. He is best known for his role in transforming the city, particularly through the organization of the 1967 International and Universal Exposition, commonly known as Expo 67, which showcased Montreal to the world.
Drapeau was also instrumental in the development of the Montreal Metro, a rapid transit system that greatly improved public transportation in the city. His leadership and vision helped modernize Montreal, making it a vibrant cultural and economic hub in Canada.
