Jean Chrétien
Jean Chrétien is a Canadian politician who served as the 20th Prime Minister of Canada from 1993 to 2003. He was a member of the Liberal Party and represented the Saint-Maurice riding in Quebec. Chrétien is known for his leadership during a time of economic growth and for implementing policies that focused on reducing the national deficit.
Before becoming Prime Minister, Chrétien held various positions in government, including Minister of Finance and Minister of Justice. He played a significant role in the Canada-United States Free Trade Agreement and was a key figure in the 1995 Quebec referendum, which aimed to determine Quebec's status within Canada.
