Jawi language
The Jawi language is a script used for writing the Malay language, primarily in Malaysia and Indonesia. It is based on the Arabic script and includes additional characters to accommodate sounds specific to Malay. Jawi is often used in religious texts, literature, and cultural expressions.
Historically, Jawi played a significant role in the spread of Islam in the region, as it was used in many Islamic schools and texts. Today, while the Latin alphabet is more commonly used, Jawi remains an important part of the cultural heritage and identity of Malay-speaking communities.
