Japanese dialects
Japanese dialects, known as hōgen, are regional variations of the Japanese language spoken across different areas of Japan. These dialects can differ significantly in pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar. Some well-known dialects include Kansai dialect, spoken in the Osaka region, and Hokkaido dialect, found in the northernmost part of the country.
The diversity of Japanese dialects reflects the rich cultural history of Japan. While the standard form of Japanese, called Kyōtsūgo, is used in media and education, many people take pride in their local dialects, which often carry unique expressions and cultural nuances.
