Japanese Olympic Committee
The Japanese Olympic Committee (JOC) is the national governing body responsible for organizing Japan's participation in the Olympic Games. Established in 1911, the JOC oversees the training and selection of athletes, as well as the promotion of Olympic sports throughout the country. It works closely with various sports federations to ensure that Japan is well-represented at both the Summer and Winter Olympics.
In addition to managing athlete development, the JOC also focuses on fostering the Olympic spirit and values among the Japanese public. The committee plays a crucial role in preparing for upcoming events, such as the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, which were held in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
