Japanese Calendar
The Japanese calendar is a system that combines both the Gregorian calendar and traditional Japanese methods of timekeeping. It uses the same 12 months as the Gregorian calendar but also incorporates the concept of Eras, which are periods defined by the reign of an emperor. Each era begins with the ascension of a new emperor, and the current era is called Reiwa, which started in 2019.
In addition to the standard months, the Japanese calendar includes unique holidays and festivals, such as Shogatsu (New Year) and Hanami (cherry blossom viewing). These events often reflect cultural traditions and seasonal changes, making the calendar an important aspect of Japanese life.
