Japanese Bedding
Japanese bedding typically consists of a futon, which is a thin mattress placed directly on the floor or a tatami mat. This bedding is designed to be lightweight and easily foldable, allowing for convenient storage during the day. The futon is often accompanied by a shikibuton (comforter) and a kakebuton (duvet) for warmth.
In addition to futons, many Japanese homes use tatami mats, made from rice straw and covered with woven rush grass. These mats provide a natural and comfortable sleeping surface. Traditional Japanese bedding promotes a minimalist lifestyle, emphasizing simplicity and functionality in the sleeping environment.
