Japanese Basketball Association
The Japanese Basketball Association (JBA) is the governing body for basketball in Japan. Established in 1930, it oversees the development and promotion of the sport at all levels, including amateur and professional leagues. The JBA is responsible for organizing national competitions and managing the national teams that represent Japan in international events.
In 2016, the JBA restructured the professional league system, leading to the creation of the B.League, which has become the top professional basketball league in Japan. The JBA also focuses on youth development programs to nurture future talent and increase the popularity of basketball across the country.
