Japan Self-Defense Forces
The Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF) are the military forces of Japan, established in 1954. Their primary purpose is to ensure national security and respond to emergencies, such as natural disasters. The JSDF consists of three branches: the Ground Self-Defense Force (GSDF), the Maritime Self-Defense Force (MSDF), and the Air Self-Defense Force (ASDF).
The JSDF operates under the principles of pacifism outlined in Japan's post-World War II constitution, which limits its military capabilities. Despite these restrictions, the JSDF participates in international peacekeeping missions and humanitarian assistance, reflecting Japan's commitment to global stability and cooperation.
