Jane Stanford
Jane Stanford was an American philanthropist and co-founder of Stanford University. Born on August 25, 1828, in New York, she played a crucial role in establishing the university alongside her husband, Leland Stanford, a former governor of California. After Leland's death in 1893, Jane dedicated herself to ensuring the university's success and stability.
In addition to her contributions to education, Jane Stanford was known for her charitable work and support of various social causes. She was instrumental in the development of the university's campus and its early programs, leaving a lasting legacy in higher education. Jane passed away on February 28, 1905.
