James V
James V was a king of Scotland who ruled from 1513 until his death in 1542. He was the son of James IV and Margaret Tudor, and he became king when he was just a baby after his father's death at the Battle of Flodden. His reign was marked by efforts to strengthen the Scottish monarchy and expand its influence, but he faced challenges from powerful nobles and external threats.
During his rule, James V sought to improve Scotland's economy and military. He is known for his patronage of the arts and for building several castles, including Stirling Castle. His reign ended tragically when he died shortly after the defeat at the Battle of Solway Moss, leaving behind a young daughter, Mary, Queen of Scots.
