Jaintia Language
The Jaintia Language is a member of the Khasian language family, primarily spoken by the Jaintia people in the northeastern Indian state of Meghalaya. It is one of the indigenous languages of the region and is recognized for its unique phonetic and grammatical features. The language is primarily used in daily communication and cultural expressions among the Jaintia community.
Jaintia is closely related to other languages in the Khasian group, such as Khasi and Pnar. Efforts are being made to preserve and promote the language, especially among younger generations, as globalization poses challenges to its continued use. Educational initiatives and cultural programs aim to keep the Jaintia language vibrant and relevant.
